GPAINNOVA Wins the TCT Post-Processing Award 2022 with DLyte eBlast

GPAINNOVA received yesterday evening the TCT Award in the Post-Processing category with its new DLyte eBlast, the first electro-blasting system based on projected electropolishing. The company’s CEO and co-founder, Pau Sarsanedas, and his father and DLyte eBlast’s inventor, Marc Sarsanedas, picked up the trophy in a ceremony held in Birmingham, coinciding with the trade show TCT 3Sixty 2022.

GPAINNOVA’s Winner Project: the First Dry Electro-Blasting Solution

Launched in November 2021, DLyte eBlast has been especially created for surface finishing of large, heavy metal parts, or with complex geometries which are difficult to polish by immersion or require a localized finishing, such as welded areas. It is suitable for blind holes, slots, occluded areas and inner channels. DLyte eBlast can be used in three ways: manually, for low-volume, high-variety production, and for finishing small areas of the parts; semi-automatically, for pieces with low geometric complexity that can be treated with repetitive, simple movements, and in an automatic mode, thanks to a collaborative robot (cobot).

The Second GPAINNOVA’s TCT Post-Processing Award

This is not the first time that GPAINNOVA takes home the TCT Post-Processing Award. In fact, in September 2018, the business group was awarded this distinction thanks to its dry electrolyte process (DryLyte), patented the year before. Unlike traditional electropolishing methods, DryLyte does not use liquid as the electrolyte but instead uses ion transport via free solid bodies which enable the removal of material from only the peaks of roughness and without changing the part’s shape, tolerances or leaving micro-scratches on the surface.

On the other hand, GPAINNOVA’s DLyte eBlast was also shortlisted as a finalist in the Innovation Trophy 2022 of the 3D Print Lyon Exhibition 2022.

About the TCT Awards

This annual event, held in Birmingham (United Kingdom), brought together industry leaders to celebrate the innovators, technologies and collaborators behind some outstanding examples of additive manufacturing (AM), 3D printing, design and engineering from the whole world.

The aim of the contest is to showcase world-leading projects, as well as recognizing the most influential and impactful members of the AM industry. The competition encompassed 11 categories from project-based application awards to innovations in hardware, materials, software and post-processing. Specifically, GPAINNOVA was shortlisted in the category of TCT Post-Processing Award together with four more organizations: Addiblast, Reinforce3D, RENA and Solukon.
