Top 10 Highlights of GPAINNOVA in 2022
This is the best time to take stock of GPAINNOVA’s achievements in 2022. Even if the last twelve months have not been easy —it was the year of the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant, the Russo-Ukrainian War, severe supply chain disruptions, a spike in inflation, and global economic uncertainty—, GPAINNOVA managed to close it successfully. New machines and technological solutions on the markets, more awards and recognitions, and strategic partnerships with key players are some of the main milestones.
1. Annual Turnover of €26 Million, 12 Percent More than in 2021
GPAINNOVA increased its annual turnover from €23.2 million in 2021 to €26 million in 2022, which means €2.8 million and 12 percent more than the year before. GPAINNOVA has thus accumulated six consecutive years of growth and multiplied by 43 the 2016 figure (€600,000). This trend was accentuated in the last quarter, when turnover was 52 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year (€13.12 million in 2022 compared to €8.65 million in 2021).
The organization also consolidated its sales in the industrial sector and in international markets, achieving machinery sales in 40 countries on five continents. Foreign trade played a major role in business activity, with exports accounting for 95% of last year’s turnover.
2. Among the Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies for the 3rd Consecutive Year, According to Financial Times
GPAINNOVA was featured for the third consecutive time in the Europe’s 1,000 Fastest Growing Companies list, compiled by Financial Times and the German data provider Statista. This annual ranking identifies the European companies with the strongest revenue growth between 2017 and 2020. GPAINNOVA ranked 192nd in Europe and 9th in Spain, being the 4th European company and the 1st in Spain in the industrial goods sector.
In this edition, the minimum compound annual growth rate (CAGR) required to make the list was 36.5 percent, a notch above the 35.5 percent needed for last year’s ranking. GPAINNOVA triples this percentage (103.68 percent), and its absolute growth rate was 744.97 percent.
On the other hand, GPAINNOVA was selected in November as one of the 10 Best Industrial Machinery Companies to Watch in 2022 by Insights Success.
3. New Products and Technologies
GPAINNOVA launched in 2022 new machines and solutions in the field of metal surface finishing, its main business line.
DLyte 100PRO Series
Last June, GPAINNOVA featured DLyte 100PRO, the largest and most advanced compact machine for industrial applications based on dry electropolishing. This new equipment overcomes current constraints on the traditional polishing machines and offers a wider range of options to automate the postprocessing process in industrial sectors. The new machine is suitable to treat the most common metals used by the industry: steel, cobalt-chrome, titanium, copper-based, nickel-based, and aluminum groups.
This machine fulfills the specifications of high-demanding standards. Its software logs key parameters and warnings within the process, thus assuring traceability of the processed batch. All data can be easily extracted and analyzed through the ethernet and USB ports. The new hardware enhances the user experience with an advanced PLC electronics and is designed with robust and reliable mechanics to work continuously in mass production. The new equipment improves performance of DLyte 100 applying asymmetric pulses and parameter concatenation. It is able to increase the electrolyte media lifespan thanks to a precise process monitoring and media conditioning system. In addition, its new safety system includes a warning light tower which indicates the machine status, and antisabotage security system.
The equipment has another version: DLyte 100PRO Carbides, for surface finishing of hard metals.
Dry Suspension
Presented in May, Dry Suspension consists in a new electrolyte that combines polymer particles and a non-conductive liquid, specially designed to improve the results of conventional dry electropolishing processes. It is recommended for the treatment of industrial parts with occluded areas, or for those that need to meet the highest standards of quality and tend to oxidize easily.
A New Development of Surface Finishing Processes for Tungsten Carbides
GPAINNOVA achieved last year significant advances in surface finishing for cemented carbides, also known as hard metal (WC-Co), by means of DryLyte, a dry electropolishing technology created by the business group. The process has been recently perfected for this kind of metals. This new electrolyte and the process itself was patented by three GPAINNOVA’s professionals: Marc Sarsanedas, Guiomar Riu, and Joan Josep Roa.
4. GPAINNOVA is Widely Awarded and Recognized
Awards are a reminder of the company’s efforts and commitment. This year, GPAINNOVA received several distinctions. The earliest recognitions, in February, were two European Enterprise Awards, granted by the economic and financial magazine EU Business News. GPAINNOVA was awarded there as the Best Multinational Industrial Technology Group 2021. In addition, one of its latest innovations, DLyte Desktop Series, was selected as the Most Innovative Electropolishing Machine in 2021.
GPAINNOVA was also granted further awards and recognitions in 2022: the Innova Award at the Empresa de l’Any (Company of the Year) Awards 2021, organized by El Periódico and Banc Sabadell; the Innovation Award at the Surfair Congress, in Biarritz (France); the TCT Post-Processing Award 2022 with DLyte eBlast, and the distinctive label of ‘Catalonia Exponential Leaders’, which recognizes it as one of the most disruptive Catalan companies.
